Sisters.

About two months ago I got a really special request in my inbox. Emily had reached out about needing a photographer to capture one of the best moments of her life - a reunion that had been a long time coming.

Emily had just reconnected with her younger, half-sister, Marissa, after being separated 23 years ago. The last time they had seen each other, Marissa was just a little baby bundle in her sisters 6 year old arms at the park. In December 2017, Marissa was gifted an Ancestry kit for Christmas  which is how they found out about each other. After chatting for a few months, Emily decided it was time to come out to San Francisco and see her sister in person. They wanted this to be special since they have no memories or photos together growing up so they decided to have the moment they first saw each other in person captured. The first thing they did was hug and compare hands because they wanted to know if they had the same little hands - they do.

I hope this little journal entry inspires you to give your sis some extra love and remember just how lucky we are to have them.
